Femme Fatale: The Allure of Elkins Estate

16

Jul

I was always curious about Elkins Estate and its neighboring building, Lynnewood Hall, growing up—I remember passing by in the car when I was young and visiting my cousin who lived in the neighborhood. With all of its Gilded Age grandeur, and the story of its rich history, how could you not be! When the building was recently revitalized and re-opened as a wedding venue, I was so excited to be able to shoot there. So when Courtney from Winsome Floral and Arielle from Arielle Fera Events asked me to photograph a floral-forward bridal editorial at Elkins, it was a resounding yes!

My talented friends at Winsome built a towering 14-foot floral arch along one of the doorways in the ballroom in their signature romantic style. It was the focal point of this editorial, juxtaposing the opulence of the space with organically designed spring blooms. It was a dream to photograph.
