There’s something extra special about photographing a couple in the place where their story began. For Nicole and Sean, that place is Princeton University, where they met as students, bonded over their shared love of sports, and began their journey together nine years ago.

Now living in Brooklyn, Nicole works at Fox and Sean is in FinTech sales. Despite the pace of city life, their connection still feels grounded, easy, and full of warmth—something that came through so clearly during their session. They wanted photos that felt candid and real, that captured their energy and how they’re feeling in this moment… and we made that our focus from the very first frame.

October in Princeton gave us the perfect setting: crisp air, golden leaves, and the kind of cozy nostalgia that only college campuses in fall can deliver. We wandered through the archways, past all the historic architecture, and along tree-lined paths and gardens that held so many memories for them. Every smile, every laugh, felt deeply personal and unposed.

Nicole and Sean are playful, relaxed, oh-so-funny, and effortlessly in sync. Photographing them felt like being let in on a really good secret.
